Your data
To plan a safari we need to know a few things about you, and to arrange it we share some of them with the lodges, airlines and guides who look after you. Here is exactly what we collect, why, who sees it, and the control you have.
Easy2Africa designs, sells and arranges tailor-made safari packages. The Easy2Africa entity that contracts with you is the controller of your personal data, and which entity that is depends on where you are: our Irish or Cypriot entity for EU and EEA customers, our US entity for US customers, and our South African entity for African and other customers. The entity details are on your quotation and confirmation, and in our Terms and Conditions.
Data protection contact: privacy@easy2africa.com [DPO / representative details where required].
We only ask for what we need to plan your trip and get you safely through it.
We use your data to answer your enquiry, design and quote your trip, make and manage your bookings with suppliers, take payment, keep you informed before and during travel, help you if something goes wrong, meet our legal and safety obligations, and, where you allow it, tell you about trips we think you would like.
For customers covered by the GDPR, we rely on: performance of our contract with you (to plan and deliver your trip); your consent (for special-category data such as health needs, and for optional marketing and analytics); our legitimate interests (to run and improve our business, prevent fraud and keep records); and legal obligation (tax, accounting and safety). For South African customers we process under POPIA on equivalent grounds. You can withdraw consent at any time.
Arranging a safari means handing some details to the people who will actually look after you. We share only what each of them needs.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with advertisers.
Your safari takes place in Africa, so arranging it necessarily involves sending some of your data to suppliers in the countries you visit, which may be outside your home region and the EEA. Where we transfer personal data internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision, and we limit the data to what each supplier needs to look after you.
We keep your data for as long as needed to arrange your trip and for a reasonable period afterwards, and then for as long as the law requires us to keep financial and booking records (commonly [6 to 7] years for tax and accounting). Special-category data is kept only as long as needed for the trip it relates to. After that we delete or anonymise it.
Depending on where you are, you have the right to ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to how we use it, to data portability, and to withdraw consent. You can also ask us not to send you marketing at any time. To exercise any of these, write to privacy@easy2africa.com and we will respond within the time the law allows.
This website uses a small set of cookies. Essential ones keep it working; optional analytics load only if you accept them. Full detail, and how to change your choice, is in our Cookie Notice.
We arrange family trips, so we do collect data about children, but always from a booking adult with authority, and only to arrange the trip. We do not market to children.
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including access controls, encryption in transit, and handling payment through regulated providers. No system is perfect, but we take the security of your information seriously and keep our measures under review.
For anything about your data, write to privacy@easy2africa.com. If you are in the EU or EEA and are not satisfied, you may complain to your local data protection authority. In South Africa, you may contact the Information Regulator. We would always rather you came to us first so we can put things right.
